Appointment of Elijah Williams as Acting Director of Programs and Services

Elijah Williams, whose Nisg̱a’a name is k’aym̓asim yuuhadaayit gaak, meaning “Young Prominent Leader,” is of the G̱anada (Frog/Raven) Tribe and hails from the house of Wilps Ax̱dii Wil Luu – G̱ooda Ksim X̱saan of the Nisg̱a’a Nation.

Throughout his tenure with the Gitlax̱dax Nisg̱a’a Terrace Society, Elijah has demonstrated commitment to community service, organizational excellence, and cultural leadership. He has successfully served in several key roles, including Coordinator of the Activities and Events Department, Coordinator of the Language and Culture Department, and Acting Communications Officer. In these capacities, he has played an instrumental role in strengthening community engagement, enhancing organizational communications, and supporting the effective delivery of programs and services to urban Nisg̱a’a citizens and community members.

In his new acting role, Elijah will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Society’s Programs and Services while continuing to support the organization’s Communications and Public Relations portfolio. His experience within the organization, dedication to community development, and collaborative leadership style consistently reflect the Society’s values of integrity, professionalism, and cultural pride.

His broad experience across multiple departments and his strong relationship-building skills make well-positioned to lead our Programs and Services Department during this transition.
